If you're not familair with San Diego Social Venture Partners (SDSVP), it's a terrific organization that brings great people together to provide volunteer business expertise that dramatically leverages philanthropic giving in the San Diego community. They pull together teams that bolster the IT, Marketing, and Strategic Planning functions of local non-profits that support youth and children, the elderly, and the homeless. The group is made up of individuals (including several HBS Club members) who are passionate about making a difference in a very strategic and hands-on way. Last year, they donated $3 million in cash and value added services (that's 13,000 volunteer hours!) to the San Diego community.
